Justin Bieber abuses Twitter with phone gag, may get sued

Like Dark Lord Cthulhu, the Justin Bieber Twitter Army is a force unfathomable in the minds of mere mortals.?

As H.P. Lovecraft might describe true Beliebers, once rumored to occupy 3 percent of Twitter services, they are not composed altogether of flesh and blood. They have shape, but that shape was not made of matter. They cannot be controlled. They cannot be contained. Not even by Justin Bieber himself.

Perhaps in the headiness of just turning 18, Bieber forgot this fact. Maybe he never respected it. Whatever the motivation, the pop singer tweeted 9 out of 10 digits of an alleged phone number, and then asked his 19 million followers to "Call me right now." They responded by trying to fill in the 10th digit, causing switchboard chaos. Now Bieber may have to pay for his hubris at the hands of Johnny Lawsuit.?

Two Texans are in talks with attorney Emily Horton after they say Bieber's prank tweet resulted in 10s of thousands of phone calls locking up their phone lines and voicemail.?

For Dilcie Fleming, 81, of Dallas, the calls started at 10:30 p.m. on a Tuesday night several weeks ago. "I answered the phone only because I thought maybe it was a family member," Fleming told msnbc's Tamron Hall. "I explained to (to the caller) that it wasn't Justin's phone number. I hung up and my phone rang again. But the voicemails kept coming, and she says, "they're still going on. "

Fleming's preference isn't to sue. "I would like to have is an apology from him and possibly concert tickets for two great granddaughters," she said. ?As for the calls? "I've?ve kinda got used to it -- but I'd like for it to quit."?

This is the third tale in two weeks of a celebrity's reckless use of Twitter. Yesterday, Spike Lee apologized for retweeting to his 240,000 followers the erroneous address blindly accepted by many as that of George Zimmerman, the man who fatally shot 17-year-old Trayvon. The elderly couple who did live there are reportedly now staying at a hotel for safety.

Last week, Alec Baldwin mustered a Twitter army against someone he claimed was harassing his girlfriend on the Internet.?As we noted then, if the troll harassing his GF really is as bad as he claimed, then,?way to fuel a psycho stalker, Alec Baldwin! Conversely, if the troll was just your run-of-the-mill Internet jerk (with or without diagnosable mental issues), then Baldwin just sent thousands of people in that troll's direction.?

At least Lee and Baldwin have an excuse -- they haven't witnessed a lot of Internet action based on their every tweet. (That and the fact that they were responding to perceived injustices.) Bieber, however, should know better, considering past chaos wrought by the Believers in cyberspace.?

In 2010, when bassist and vocalist Esperanza Spalding dared to beat out Bieber for the Best New Artist Grammy, Beliebers trashed her Wikipedia page to vent their rage over this shocking injustice.?

Selena Gomez, Kim Kardashian and one 15-year-old girl who tore up a Bieber poster on YouTube, all were hit with countless grammatically confused, expletive-inflected, angry death threats via Twitter.

Greg Leuch got both death threats and at least one inappropriate comparison to Hitler for creating ShavedBieber, a Firefox extension that blocks out all Internet instances of "Bieber," "Justin Bieber" and photos with "Bieber" in the file name.

There are no death threats for the two Texas at the end of the wrong numbers. But?given the looming threat of of the Beliebers always lurking in Twitter's wings, perhaps the phone-prank plaintiffs should request a pro-active tweet from Bieber to leave the already beleaguered phone owners alone.

It probably won't work -- what with those Beliebers being uncontrollable or containable and all -- but it's worth a shot. I mean, as long as Bieber's on Twitter anyway.?

Helen A.S. Popkin goes blah blah blah about the Internet. Tell her to get a real job?on?Twitter?and/or?Facebook. Also,?Google+.

Donald Driver Receives Apology, Praise From Len Goodman on Dancing With the Stars

Judge Len Goodman delivered a shocker on Dancing with the Stars Monday, apologizing for underscoring NFL star and Week One favorite Donald Driver.

Goodman explained that after watching the episode, he realized he was wrong to give Driver and Peta Murgatroyd a 7 for their crowd-pleasing Cha Cha.

His score of 21 left him near the bottom of the scoreboard, and “I apologize,” Goodman said. “I under-marked you. I watched it back. You did a great job.”

Donald Driver said the mea culpa felt good: “I think we both thought it was a low score, but we made history, so if we continue to make history, we’ll be good.”

“He’s a great judge,” Driver added. “Len, he’s man enough to step up and say he made a mistake and you don’t really get that from too many people today."

"His integrity showed today. We are smiling ear-to-ear right now.”

They're smiling even more after earning a 24 for their quickstep:

Comply With These Grade Self-help Suggestions

Some other work references most people may scan through = Medical Assistant Programs

People who have particularly intractable problems should try therapy. There is only so much that can be done with self-help books; sometimes what is required is the expertise and personal attention that only a therapist can give. Sometimes, success happens by simply talking problems through. A mental health professional will be able to open a dialogue that no book ever could. Stress and happiness do not go together. Stress in the mind hurts us both mentally and physically across our body. If we want to think clearly and strive for our goals with neat, calm purpose, we must eliminate the stress in our minds. Schedule a time every day where you can relax, be alone, and empty your thoughts. Eventually, you will learn to look forward to this peaceful time every day.

You might?ve heard that listening can be as vital as speaking. This rule is equally important to personal development. In fact, one of the most important people you should learn to listen to is yourself. When you do not hear yourself, you will lack the ability to know what you really need, and this makes it difficult to improve yourself. A huge factor in personal development is simply being aware of the things you want to achieve in your life and how you intend on reaching that goal. Use these goals as a way to measure your successes. In order to continue on your personal development journey, you need a way to measure your successes. The above tips are just what you need to determine what you should do next. If you put this advice into effect in your life, you should start to see some positive changes taking shape.

Atheists holding Reason Rally in Washington, D.C., this weekend

Richard Dawkins (AP/Manish Swarup)An organized group of atheists and some of the biggest voices from their movement will hold Reason Rally on The National Mall this weekend to raise awareness for their cause and to encourage members of Congress to respect their views.

"We need to stress to the theists that we are here," David Silverman, chairman of the rally committee and president of the American Atheists, told CNN's Belief Blog. "Atheism is growing in all 50 states. What people don't seem to understand is all we demand at American Atheists is equality."

Oxford Professor Richard Dawkins, arguably the most famous living atheist in the world, will headline the Reason Rally. Dawkins says he hopes the event will pressure members of Congress to respect the views of nonbelievers in America.

"The nonbelieving constituency has not been vocal enough, and it therefore has been politic for them to be ignored by their congressmen, by their senators," Dawkins said.

The event is advertised as the largest gathering of atheists in history, but reports of a gloomy weather forecast could significantly reduce the rally's participants. The National Parks Service says it is prepared for up to 30,000 participants, but Silverman told CNN that rain could cut that number down to 5,000.

Todd Stiefel, Founder of the Stiefel Freethought Foundation, is helping to cover about half of the event's estimated $300,000 in expenses.

And while there are plenty of critics of atheism, CNN reports the only group to have officially registered for a competing spot of land to protest the rally is the Westboro Baptist Church, a group infamous for its picketing of funerals of American servicemen and servicewomen.

American WWII veterans retain ties in Myanmar

LAIZA, Myanmar (AP) ? They're in their 80s and 90s, and it all happened a very long time ago and far away, but American World War II veterans are still repaying "debts" to their comrades-in-arms in northern Myanmar ? because without them they might never have returned home.

Instead of retelling war stories as old soldiers are prone to do, these survivors of some of the war's harshest campaigns have set up education, health and other programs in this remote region to help the Kachin, an ethnic group that fought alongside them against the Japanese.

The brotherly bonds, both sides say, have not been severed despite the passing of 70 years, the isolationist policies of Myanmar and a long-running conflict between the autonomy-seeking Kachin and the military-backed government.

"We were all for one and one for all," remembers American Sam Spector of his days as an 18-year-old combat radio operator.

Among the ravishing mountains and valleys, the Kachin remember the Americans in a legendary light, as part of their folklore.

It was an improbable but remarkable partnership. The Americans came from the Office of Strategic Services, the predecessor of the CIA. Young and inexperienced, most had only seen jungles in the movies. Some of the Kachin, then a largely illiterate people, had never seen a wheel. The Kachin tutored the newcomers in jungle survival and in turn were taught modern warfare.

They formed a guerrilla force, the Kachin Rangers, which numbered 10,800 at its peak and killed 5,400 Japanese while losing only 202 of their own ? one of the highest kill-loss ratios in U.S. military history. They demolished Japanese bridges and trains, provided intelligence and rescued 425 downed airmen.

Experts at ambush, the Kachin terrorized the enemy with stealth and ferocity. When one general questioned the high body counts, a Kachin fighter dropped a bundle on his desk and said, "Count the ears and divide by two."

Peter Lutken, a battalion commander who fought with the Kachin behind Japanese lines, learned their language and culture around campfires.

"They loved him and he probably would not be alive today without their friendship ? neither would most other American and British soldiers in that part of the war," said his son, Peter Lutken III.

The elder Lutken, a retired businessman who lives in Dallas, was among a group of veterans who made a return trip to Myanmar in 1995, the 50th anniversary of the end of World War II.

"When the war ended, we walked off and left them with a few medals, a few presents and nothing else," he said before that trip. "It wasn't right."

He spoke of "a debt of honor" owed by his unit, Detachment 101 of the Office of Strategic Services.

An initial effort right after the war failed, and subsequent ones were stalled by Myanmar's government, which was trying to suppress the Kachin insurgency and also growing more hostile to the United States.

In 1996 the veterans began Project Old Soldier, training impoverished villagers to plant corn, buckwheat and other crops instead of opium, sending nurses to visit ailing Kachin veterans and aiding orphans.

Eight years later they started 101 Schools, which teaches mathematics and English to classes of up to 500 students in open-sided sheds, barns and church outbuildings in the largely Christian community.

The veterans have not been to Kachin state since the 1990s but continue to funnel in funds from the United States.

Among the few foreign aid groups allowed to operate in northern Myanmar, the two organizations have funded the translation and printing of health care manuals and hope to assist some of the more than 75,000 refugees from fighting which erupted again last year.

The Kachin first took up arms against the regime in 1961 and Kachin state remains a patchwork of areas, some controlled by the government and others by the rebel Kachin Independence Organization.

Dan Tarter, a retired U.S. Army colonel who administers 101 Schools, says that after some initial wariness the government has not interfered in the veterans' efforts, even inviting them to expand the projects. He ascribes this to the low profile and nonpolitical, nonreligious nature of the aid.

"We operate like a program named for 0SS 101 should operate ? quietly," he says.

The Kachin insurgents welcome the assistance.

"American veterans and their children are grateful to us. We are also grateful to them, because they have tried to help the children of the Kachin veterans," says La Nan, a spokesman at rebel headquarters in Laiza.

But he regretted that "this spirit only applies to the old generation of Americans" while the United States appears to have forgotten the once strong ties at a time when the Kachin are embroiled in another conflict.

The U.S. is pressuring Myanmar to resolve its ethnic wars, but the Kachin hope for even greater diplomatic support and humanitarian aid. Some of the U.S. veterans agree, recalling the friendships and mutual trust.

"I was accepted fully by the Kachins and I respected their life, their ethics, their innocence, which was not much different from mine," says Spector, a delivery boy in New York City with only limited schooling before he enlisted.

After the war he moved to Rome, Georgia, and became a lawyer, businessman and university professor.

He was among those who returned in 1995. During an emotional reunion Lutken spoke to a group of young Kachin women in their language, mentioning the name by which he was known during the war: Ka'Ang Zau Lai, or "He who went through it from beginning to end."

"The girls all knew it. Pete had become a part of the living history of the Kachin people. The girls started to cry at meeting this old warrior and hero of the Kachin," says Barry Broman, a retired U.S. diplomat who hosted a party for the group in Yangon, then the capital of Myanmar.

The wartime exploits of the Americans and Kachin, some of whom went on to join the rebels, have not been celebrated by Myanmar. The government is dominated by the majority ethnic group, the Burmans, many of whom initially sided with the Japanese.

"Burmese historians only write one or two lines about the contribution of the hill people in the liberation from Japan. That's all. This is a great tragedy," says Rev. Maran Ja Gun, a Christian pastor, historian and adviser to the Kachin Independence Organization.

There is a monument ? an American and Kachin soldier standing side-by-side, garlanded weekly with fresh flowers ? but it's on the grounds of the U.S. Embassy in Yangon. Authorities didn't give permission for one in Myitkyina, the Kachin state capital, although the Japanese were allowed to erect a war memorial.

For the American veterans, what matters are the schools and other aid projects, Tarter says: "These are their monuments."

Seismic survey at the Mariana trench will follow water dragged down into the Earth's mantle

ScienceDaily (Mar. 22, 2012) ? Last month, Doug Wiens, PhD, professor of earth and planetary science at Washington University in St. Louis, and two WUSTL students were cruising the tropical waters of the western Pacific above the Mariana trench aboard the research vessel Thomas G. Thompson.

The trench is a subduction zone, where the ancient, cold and dense Pacific plate slides beneath the younger, lighter high-riding Mariana Plate, the leading edge of the Pacific Plate sinking deep into Earth's mantle as the plates slowly converge.

Taking turns with his shipmates, Wiens swung bright-yellow ocean bottom seismometers and hydrophones off the fantail, and lowered them gently to the water's surface, as the ship laid out a matrix of instruments for a seismic survey on the trench.

The survey, which Wiens leads together with Daniel Lizarralde, PhD, of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, will follow the water chemically bound to the down-diving Pacific Plate or trapped in deep faults that open in the plate as it bends. The work is funded by the National Science Foundation.

Scientists have only recently begun to study the subsurface water cycle, which promises to be as important as the more familiar surface water cycle to the character of the planet.

Hydration reactions along the subducting plate are thought to carry water deep into Earth, and dehydration reactions at greater depths release fluids into the overlying mantle that promote melting and volcanism.

The water also plays a role in the strong earthquakes characteristic of subduction zones. Hydrated rock and water under high pressure are thought to lubricate the boundary between the plates and to permit sudden slippage.

Dropping the instruments

Between Jan. 26 and Feb. 9, working day and night, watch-on and watch-off, the Thompson laid down 80 ocean bottom seismometers and five hydrophones.

The hydrophones, which detect pressure waves and convert them into electrical signals, provide less information than the seismometers, which register ground motion, but they can be tethered four miles deep in the water column where the bottom is so far down seismometers would implode as they sank.

The Thompson sailed over some of the most famous real estate in the world, the Mariana trench, which includes the bathtub-shaped depression called the Challenger Deep, to which Avatar director James Cameron plans to plunge in a purpose-built one-man submersible called the Deep Challenger.

Seven miles down, the pressure in the Deep is 1,000 atmospheres (1,000 times the pressure at sea level on dry land) or roughly 8 tons per square inch. Seismometers, says Wiens, only go down four miles.

The trench is created by the subduction of some of the world's oldest oceanic crust, which plunges underneath the Mariana Isalnds so steeply at places that it is going almost straight down.

The active survey

After the Thompson returned to Guam and Wiens flew back to St. Louis to resume his less romantic duties as chair of the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, the research vessel Marcus G. Langseth began to sail transects above the matrix of seismometers, firing the 36-airgun array on its back deck.

The sound blasts reflected from the boundaries between rock layers a few miles beneath the ocean floor were picked up by an five-mile-long "streamer," or hose containing many hydrophones, towed just beneath the surface behind the ship.

This was the "active" stage of a seismic survey with a "passive" stage yet to come.

After the seismic survey, the Langseth returned to pick up 60 seismometers, leaving behind 20 broadband seismometers and the hydrophones that will listen for a year to the reverberations from distant earthquakes, allowing the seismologists to map structures as deep as 60 miles beneath the surface.

In the meantime Patrick Shore, a research scientist in earth and planetary science, and two Washington University students had set sail across the ocean in a tiny vessel, the Kaiyu III, to install seismometers on the Mariana islands that will also supply data for the "passive" stage of the survey.

Water, water everywhere

Water plays a completely different role at depth than it does on the surface of Earth. Water infiltrating the mantle through faults hydrates the mantle rock on either side of the fault.

In a low temperature process called serpentinization, it transforms mantle rock such as the green periodotite into serpentinite, a rock with a dark scaly surface like a serpent's skin.

As the slab plunges yet deeper, dehydration reactions release water, which at such great pressure and temperature exists as a supercritical fluid that can drift through materials like a gas and dissolve them like a fluid. The fluid rises into the overlying mantle where it lowers the melting point of rock and triggers the violent eruptions of magma that created the Mariana Islands, to which Shore was sailing.

"We think that much of the water that goes down at the Mariana trench actually comes back out of the Earth into the atmosphere as water vapor when the volcanos erupt hundreds of miles away," Wiens says.

The scientists will map the distribution of serpentinite in the subducting plate and overlying mantle, by looking for regions where certain seismicwaves travel more slowly than usual.

Tracing the water cycle within subduction zones will allow the scientists to better understand island-arc volcanism and subduction-zone earthquakes, which are among the most powerful in the world But the role of subsurface water is not limited to these zones. Scientists don't know how subduction got started in the first place, but water may be a necessary ingredient. Venus, which is in many ways similar to Earth, has volcanism but no plate tectonics, probably because it is bone dry.

Home Improvement | Concrete Repair and Decoration :: By mariana ...

Concrete is a simple building material, it contains of cement (commonly Portland cement) and other cement materials such as fly ash and slag cement, aggregate (generally a coarse aggregate made of gravel or powdered rocks such as limestone, in addition a good quality aggregate such as sand), water, and chemical components and mixture. The word concrete is taken from the Latin word "concretus" which means compact or distillthe perfect passive participle of "concrescere", from "con" (together) and "crescere" (to grow).Concrete becomes solid and hard after adding with water and placed due to a chemical process known as hydration. The water reacts with the cement, which makes bonds the other components together, finally creating a dusty stone-like material. Pavements, architectural structures, foundations pipe, and motorways, roads, bridges, overpasses, parking structures, brick/block walls and footings for gates, fences and poles are made by using concrete.

Concrete had been used for constructing in many different old structures and building. By deeply seeing the old Egyptian pyramids has given that concrete might have been employed in their construction, even its making would have differed from now a days concrete. The Roman Empire, Roman concrete was made by quicklimeand by some amountof pumice. It was used in many Roman structures; a main event in the history of designing termed the Roman Architectural Revolution, it gave freedom to the Roman construction from the boundaries of stone and brick material and permitted for new plans in terms of both structural complexities.New structureconcrete is different from Roman concrete by two main things. First one isit?s mixedin liquid, permitting it to be transferred into different forms rather than needing hand-layering together with the placing of aggregate, in Roman experience, some times consisted of rubble. Second, integral reinforcing steel gives modern concrete assemblies great strength in movement.

Concrete adding material have been used since Roman and Egyptian rule, when it was discovered that adding volcanic ash to the mix allowed it to set under water. The Romans knew that adding horse hair made concrete less liable to crack while it hardened, and adding blood made it more frost-resistant.Now days the use of recycled things as concrete ingredients has been gaining popularity because of increasingly stringent environmental legislation. The most conspicuous of these is fly ash, a byproduct of coal-fired power plants. This use reduces the amount of quarrying and landfill space required, and, as the ash acts as a cement changes, decease the amount of cement needed. In new times, researching teams have experimented or tried with the addition of other materials to create concrete with improved and good properties, such as higher strength or electrical conductivity.Mixing water with a cementing material forms a cement paste by the processknown as of hydration. The cement paste joins the aggregate together, fills voids within it, and allows it to flow more freely. Less water in the cement paste will yield a stronger, more good and durable concrete; more water will give a freer-flowing concrete with a higher slump.

Now that One Direction are officially taking over the American pop scene, it seems that they are also being embraced by the bigwigs over at Nickelodeon. Having toured with network stars Big Time Rush, the five lads from the U.K. insist that rumors of their own show on Nick have been greatly exaggerated.

"We've just been doing stuff with Nickelodeon. They've been brilliant to us; they've been really good to us. There's no sign of a TV show," Niall Horan told MTV News. "We haven't heard anything. We're obviously doing the Kids' Choice [Awards] and stuff, but there's no deal been done or anything [for a show]. They're just kind of helping us out, I suppose."

That help includes an appearance on one of the network's biggest shows, "iCarly." "We had a lot of fun doing that. [Nick] put us on an episode of 'iCarly' as a guest appearance. First time we've ever done any acting, by the way, and if it comes out bad, we're very sorry," Horan joked. "But we think it's going to be really fun — it was really fun to make. And all the cast, it was really easy to work with them. They made us feel really comfortable. After a couple of takes, it was quite easy. The fans really reacted to the 'iCarly' thing."

Before that episode airs, the guys will take the stage at the KCAs, airing March 31. It's an honor they aren't taking lightly. "We're gonna be in L.A. for the Kids' Choice Awards. We're doing a big performance with that," he said. "Kids' Choice is the biggest night on Nickelodeon, and all the big stars are going to be there, and when we found out it was just us and Katy Perry performing, we were like, 'Geez, this is a big deal.' "

With so much attention on the small screen here in States, what are their U.S. fans like? "American fans are very, very loud," he said. "Everyone in America is very enthusiastic."

(AP) ? A strong 7.4-magnitude earthquake hit southern Mexico on Tuesday, damaging some 800 homes near the epicenter and swaying tall buildings and spreading fear and panic hundreds of miles away in the capital of Mexico City.

One of the strongest to shake Mexico since the deadly 1985 temblor that killed thousands in Mexico City, Tuesday's earthquake hit hardest in border area of southern Oaxaca and Guerrero states, where Guerrero official confirmed that some 800 homes had been damaged, with another 60 having collapsed.

Hours after the shaking at noon local time (18:06 GMT), there were still no reports of death or serious injury, even after a less powerful, magnitude-5.1 aftershock was felt in the capital and several other aftershocks near the epicenter in a mountainous rural region.

"It was very strong, very substantial," said Campos Benitez, hospital director in Ometepec, about 15 miles (25 kilometers) from the epicenter.

Guerrero Gov. Angel Aguirre, who is from Ometepec, was headed there to survey the damage and ordered emergency crews and civil protection to the area to help with the damage. The state did not say how many were displaced.

In Mexico City, frightened workers and residents poured into the streets of the capital. Telephone service was down in the city and throughout the area where the quake was felt and some neighborhoods were without power, according to Mexico City Mayor Marcelo Ebrard, who set up a hotline for people to report damage.

A pedestrian bridge collapsed on an empty transit bus.

About 40 passengers were stranded for a short time on the Mexico City airport air train, but later released. The airport closed for a time but officials said there was no runway damage and they resumed operations.

Samantha Rodriguez, a 37-year old environmental consultant, was evacuated from the 11th floor on the Angel Tower office building.

"I thought it was going to pass rapidly but the walls began to thunder and we decided to get out," she said.

Mexico City, built on a lakebed, was badly damaged in 1985 when an 8.0 earthquake killed at least 10,000 people. In past years, Guerrero has suffered several severe earthquakes, including a 7.9 in 1957 which killed an estimated 68 people, and a 7.4 in 1995 which left three dead.

Tuesday's quake was the strongest shaking felt in the capital since a magnitude-6.5 earthquake struck also in Guerrero in December. Officials said at least three people died in Guerrero, but there were no reports of widespread damage.

A magnitude-8.0 quake near Manzanillo on Mexico's central Pacific coast killed 51 people in 1995 and a magintude-7.5 quake killed at least 20 people in the southern state of Oaxaca in 1999.

In Huajuapan, Guerrero, near the epicenter, hotel manager Marco Antonio Estrada also reported shaken-up guests but no major damage. He said it was longest and strongest he ever felt. People ran out of their homes and cars.

"It was very strong, but we didn't see anything fall," said Irma Ortiz, who runs a guesthouse in Oaxaca. She said their telephones are down, and that the quake shook them side-to-side.

The U.S. Geological Survey set the preliminary magnitude of the first quake at 7.4 and said the epicenter was 11 miles underground. The survey set the aftershock at 5.1.

U.S. President Barack Obama's oldest daughter, Malia, was reported and safe while on vacation with a school group in Oaxaca.

Groups of women hugged and cried at Mexico City's Angel of Independence monument, where hundreds of people evacuated from office buildings said they never had felt such a strong earthquake. Others typed ferociously on their Blackberries.

Mexico City's airport was closed for a short time but there was no damage to runways and operations were returning to normal.

In Oaxaca, Sylvia Valencia was teaching Spanish to five adult students at the Vinigulaza language school when the earthquake hit.

"Some of us sat down, others ran out," she said. "It was hard, it was strong and it was long."

After the shaking stopped, however, she said they found no damage, not in their own classrooms, nor outside in the historical center of the city, so they went back to class.

Celia Galicia, who works at the U.S. consular office in Oaxaca, had just flown in from Mexico City when it hit.

She said there was panic in the airport, and a dash for the doors. But she said that she saw no damage at the airport and no one was hurt. She says one building in downtown Oaxaca appears to be damaged and has been evacuated.

She added that they've had two strong aftershocks, and that in downtown Oaxaca most people are out on the street at this point.

"It started shaking badly," she said.

In light of the readings on the general philosophies (presentations) and benchmark education book levels (presentation and further reading), do a comparison of the principles of Paulo Freire you can see and hear in the video, with the philosophy presented by the Department of Education in writing and your experiences in Puerto Rican education. You can find the guide for preparing your comparative reflection and rubric to evaluate it. In this link you can read Pedagogy of the Oppressed by Paulo Freire, this reading gives you a quick, ojéala before commenting. After watching and listening to Freire I have to conclude that its principles and ideas belong to the general philosophy of Pragmatism because for him there must be democracy in the process of teaching and learning in the classroom. According to Freire, education is a process of active learning where not only the educated but also the educator. He said: You can check at the entrance of October 13 1o.C group where a number of examples of the feedback process to be with this activity. The second reference ** can only be seen as an example of your contribution but take as part of the argument of your work, please choose one more to complete it. Henry I stay well with it, and if you want to update the information (as it is, 2009) can look to the organization that is quoted:. Alexander The sociocultural animation is a type of community action that has as main purpose to promote in individuals and groups an attitude of active participation in the process of their own development. It covers a very wide and diverse range of interventions, programs and institutions: civic centers, cultural centers, universities and popular cultural, children's clubs in the leisure education, organization of festivals, cultural promotion programs, etc. The significant growth of this area socio, experienced in recent decades and sponsored either by public policy or social welfare initiatives for emerging directly from civil society, has led to an increasingly large contingent of cultural agents. these agents, whether they perform their duties professionally and from the voluntary, require appropriate training. And so, with the development of institutional frameworks of sociocultural animation, have been creating different levels and levels of training: animation schools, specific studies of vocational and university education also within the framework of social education. This book is intended as a tool to collaborate in the training of cultural agents. It claims to offer full a picture as possible of the universe theory and practice of animation. Without neglecting the relevant theoretical and conceptual aspects, introduces historical and comparative content abounds in metodógicas issues and techniques of intervention, describes and analyzes the variety of institutional frameworks on the basis of the recipients or users (children, youth, adults, elderly , in a situation of marginalization) and reflects on the controversies and challenges most relevant socio-cultural today. He denounced particularly the reduction of hours of English in schools full time, where most of the students belong to the most deprived levels. Abreu Director also presented a paper on Education.
