Will Google Become The Next Cable TV Provider?

Google has recently shown interest in launching an online version of pay television and has already approached several media companies about licensing their content for the future service.

The rumours come at a time when other big-name corporations such as Sony and Apple are also in talks to move into the same area and will therefore have stiff competition to win over the media companies they?ve approached. In hand the launch will also initiate competition with the existing online video players such as Netflix, Hulu and Amazon as Google plans to integrate both on-demand and conventional channels simultaneously.

Google will now face the ultimate challenge of convincing their potential partners that they can offer a better service in terms of price and number of channels which would be the main reasons for consumers to come on board.
